Service Description

In this class we will explore observational realism through the study of classical sculpture casts. This class is comprised of 4- 3hours sessions working on an extended drawing from the same cast. We will break each day down into a focused area of study. Allowing students to have a specific strategy through each part of the drawing. Students will learn: -how to sight proportions -light logic -creating depth of field -improved handling and dexterity -materials and techniques -strategy for long form drawings Class will be taught by Matt Dickson w/ an assistant teacher present. SUPPLY LIST Long Pose Supply List Charcoal Generals pencils at least 3 of each (orange ones) Hard Medium Soft Extra Soft White chalk (wood color pencil) Paper 1 sheets Canson Mi-tientes felt or steel grey Erasers Large kneadable eraser Clickable eraser Drawing board Approximately 20”x27” 2 large bull clips Other stuff Piece of cotton t-shirt for a rag approx 6”x6” Assorted blending stumps (1 small, medium, large) 5 Single edge razor blades 1 sheet of 150 grit sandpaper or sanding block
